BBC ALBA will tomorrow (Tuesday, October 29) provide exclusive live coverage of the Ramsdens Challenge Cup semi-final between Stenhousemuir and Rangers.
Coverage of the match from Ochilview Park will start at 7.30pm, with kick-off at 7.35pm. Commentary comes from Derek MacKay and Alex O’Henley and presenter Calum Macaulay will be joined for trackside analysis by Kilmarnock assistant manager Sandy Clark.
Tomorrow’s fixture will see the two League One sides compete for a place in the tournament final.
Home side Stenhousemuir have had an eventful route to the last four, starting with a penalty shootout win over Arbroath in round one after a 4-4 draw in 120 minutes of play. This was followed by a 3-1 win away to Peterhead in round two before another penalty shootout win away to Dundee in the quarter final following a 1-1 draw.
Rangers’ route to the semi-final opened with a 4-0 win away to Albion Rovers, followed by a 2-0 victory over Berwick Rangers at Ibrox. Holders Queen of South were the opposition in the quarter final but Rangers again ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in the match at Palmerston Park in September.
As well as the live action on the pitch, at half-time we take a behind the scenes look at the work going on at Stenhousemuir to raise the profile of the club both on and off the pitch. Chairman Bill Darroch talks about the strategy in place to work effectively alongside the local community, and manager Martyn Corrigan reflects on the importance of instilling a full-time mentality into the playing squad, despite the part-time status of the club.
