The newly formed Lewis and Harris Football Club’s early steps into mainland competitive football will now take place in October, instead of the originally planned September, and there will now be a different opposition for Billy Flower’s charges.
Instead of the scheduled North Caledonian Cup match against Sutherland on September 21st, the Lewis and Harris Club are preparing to take on Alness on Saturday, October 5th in a quarter-final debut.
The change of opposition and date comes as a consequence of another North Caledonian League side, Invergordon, withdrawing from all competitions, which forced league chiefs in to a hastily arranged redraw of all competitions.
Should Lewis and Harris navigate a safe passage beyond Alness they will face a semi final showdown with the winners of the Sutherland vs Clachnacuddin quarter-final on Saturday, October 19th.
