Today (Saturday) an entire season’s blood, sweat and tears will come to one single slice of 80-minute action.
The fine line between success and glory are so close that come full-time the Stornoway Rugby Club players will be in agony or ecstasy.
Ross Sutherland are the visitors to Bayhead with Stornoway currently sitting in second spot in the league table they know a win, with a bonus point, will see them crowned champions.
It has been a remarkable season for Stornoway in which they have won nine of their 11 fixtures and racked up 45-points in the process to sit just behind a Highland side who have completed their fixtures and have amassed 50-points.
A win for Stornoway, and bonus point for four tries, will take them level but they would be champs given their far superior scoring difference where their +426 difference trumps Highland’s +373.
The game is due to kick off at 11am at the Bayhead pitch, Stornoway and any local rugby fans should head along to cheer the boys on for what could well be a historic title party.
