THE Uist and Barra Football Association are inviting applications for the role of fixtures secretary ahead of the new season.

A meeting has been called for Lionacleit School for March 5, at 7pm where it is hoped a new secretary will be appointed and the start date for the new season - either April 5 or April 12 - will be confirmed.

Meanwhile Iochdar Saints picked up a timely piece of silverware by winning the Uist and Barra Indoor Open Cup this week. Saints edged Your Mum’s Athletic in the final to earn themselves a bit of momentum ahead of the new campaign.
