Point 5 Back 1

Point wrapped up a hugely satisfying week’s work with a third straight win and derby triumph over their Broadbay rivals Back.

Cup wins over Lochs and North Uist ensured the Reds took on their foes in top form and fine confidence and the result held no surprises.

Daniel Macleod, Duncan Hunter, Sam Macsween, Andrew ‘Mowgli’ Macleod and Alasdair ‘Wally’ Maciver all scored for the rampant Reds with Stuart Macdonald netting for Back.

Point manager Angus Mackay said: “The boys played really well in what was very difficult conditions. It was very comfortable for us and to be honest it was five goals going on much more.”

Back manager Kenny Smith added:”It was a horrendous night which didn’t help but once again our achillies heel came back to haunt us as we gave away cheap goals.

“The first three were certainly avoidable from our point of view. Point were certainly the better team but I felt we played well in spells, but you can’t give any team, let alone Point, four cheap goals and expect to take anything from a game.”
