Stornoway RFC has pledged its support to the RBS RugbyForce 2012 initiative which has been developed to encourage clubs across Scotland to open up to the local community, raise the profile of the game and launch the new domestic rugby season.
Stornoway RFC has planned a day of activity which will include DIY work on its facilities, rugby coaching and a visit from a member of the Scotland team.
A total of 138 clubs across Scotland have registered for the RBS RugbyForce 2012 weekend which takes place on August 11th and 12th.
This is an increase from 58 clubs who registered in 2011 demonstrating the country wide support for such a programme.
The initiative will see Stornoway RFC work in partnership with RBS and Scottish Rugby this summer to plan for the event in August.
The weekend will be an opportunity for clubs to attract new supporters and players and give them a chance to see what the club does for their local community, as well as providing volunteers and resources to improve their facilities.
It will also drive growth, support and interest in the club game.
