Stornoway’s two supermarkets will clash once again for the annual football bragging rights and to raise cash for local charities.

Tesco and the Co-op will meet on the Stornoway All Weather Surface on Wednesday, February 26, with a scheduled 7pm kick off time.

Last year the charity match was won convincingly by Tesco but the real winners on the night are always the local charities who benefit from all monies collected on the gate and from the food on sale from Mike’s Munchies.

This year Tesco’s chosen charity is Diabetes UK while the Co-op are splitting their share of the proceeds between Bethesda, the Leanne Fund and Macmillan Nurses.

Both stores would like to thank Mike Munchies, Stag Bakeries, Sportsworld and the Comhairle for their contributions to the event.
