United Wonder 16s life league title

Stornoway United’s Under 16 starlets lifted the league championship after an epic away win over their title rivals, Western Thistle.

Both sides had won every single league match they had played - but for the previous meeting between the clubs which had ended in a draw at Stornoway’s Smith Avenue.

This set up a winner takes all final day scrap at Carloway which saw United edge it 3-2 to win the league title.

Finlay Macsween scored twice and Andrew Morrison notched the other to help seal the title for the Stornoway side.

The League title joins the Macleod Insurance Cup in what has been a double winning season for United.

Western Thistle had also won a cup of their own as the top two sides at under 16 level slugged it out in all competitions.
