Young Gaelic football team to appear at ALBA cup final

COMUNN na Gàidhlig announced this week that the football team from Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu, Winners of Cuach na Cloinne 2009 - the CnaG National Gaelic Schools Football tournament – is set to appear at the ALBA Challenge Cup Final later this month.

As part of their prize for winning the CnaG competition, which was open to Primary 4 – 7 school pupils who are in Gaelic-medium education, the school team will be guests of MG ALBA, sponsors of the ALBA Challenge Cup Final which this year will feature Dundee and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The match will take place at MacDiarmid Park in Perth on Sunday (November 22) and will be shown live on BBC ALBA at 14.50 with the game kicking off at 3pm

MG ALBA also sponsored Cuach na Cloinne 2009 which attracted 39 teams from 27 schools throughout Scotland with finals having been played in Fort William. The competition was funded by Brd na Gidhlig.

We wish both teams well and we hope that the children and parents from Bun-sgoil Gidhlig Ghlaschu will enjoy their day as guests of MG ALBA."
