Francis Jefferson of the Lewis Branch of the Royal British Legion raised the flag and it was then lowered to half-mast in respect and memory of MP Jo Cox who passed away last week.

Although Armed Forces Week finishes at the end of this week, the flag will remain up until Monday 18th July when there will be an Armed Forces Parade at Perceval Square, Stornoway. The 7Scots Pipe Band and the Lewis Pipe Band will be present to play and there will also be a salute and the lowering of the flag.
