But interestingly the new record, entitled FT, is packed with collaborations with other artists including one who now calls Lewis home.

Hugely respected singer/songwriter Jean McClure – more commonly known in the industry under her recording name of Jean Honeymoon – has set up home in Bernera and the newly settled Leodhsaich is featured on the track ‘Monday Morning Sunshine’ on the new record.

“I met Sean Dickson (of HiFi Sean)in 1984 when Sean was in The Soup Dragons and I was in a band called The Honeymooners,” explained Jean.

“Sean had already begun work on his featured artists album (FT.) (with vocalists that inspired him) when he asked me if I wanted to be part of it.

“This was in 2014. There were so many artists, that I admired, respected and was a fan of over the years. Crystal Waters, Norman Blake, Paris Grey, Fred Schneider and David McAlmont were already on board and the music Sean sent me to write my vocals for Monday Morning Sunshine was sublime. I said yes immediately.

“We did a taster track and video release of Monday Morning Sunshine for the album in 2015 while we also performed it live on Live At Five, STV Glasgow.”

Discussing the track Sean Dickson describes the theme of the song as ‘the feeling you get when you wake up, or are still awake, when the sun rises on a Monday morning.’

Also featured on the record on other tracks are artists such as Crystal Waters (number 1 track Gyspy Woman) Yoko Ono, David McAlmont (McAlmont & Butler), Fred Schneider (B-52’s) Dave Ball (Soft Cell), Norman Blake (Teenage Fan Club), Paris Grey (Inner City) and more.

The album was released on vinyl, CD and as a digital download last week.

Honeymoon released her debut album late last year with ‘Come On In’ which was released via Chinchin Records in October 2015.
