Children's humorous photo competition

Ecologisers, run by Ann Palmer, organiser of the 2015 competition, are pleased to announce the launch of a repeat competition for this year, closing date 1 st December.

The competition is open to children of school age resident in the Western Isles and Skye.

Ann is looking for a humorously captioned picture of the entrant with a piece oflitter found on a litter-pick.

Or, if they prefer, they can have in the photograph an animal or a pet with a piece of litter they’ve found. The caption can be in English or Gaelic.

So far prizes are:

Co-operative Retail Stores (£50 worth of vouchers)

Tesco Stores Stornoway (2 £25 I Tunes Vouchers),

Crofters (a£20 voucher for clothing or footwear) ,

Lewis Sports Centre (a free primary school age party at any one of their venues)

An Lanntair (two sets of three tickets for a cinema or pantomime performance),

Delights (a confectionary package of delights),

Malcolm Macleod Photography (a canvas of the relevant winning entry or of the winner’s choice),

GDK Signs (a school rucksack/bag, a laptop bag, a laptop sleeve cover, and 2 camouflage caps ,

Callinish Visitor Centre (a £25 spending voucher),

The Volunteer Centre Stornoway (a Volunteer Bracelet, a £10 Argos Gift Voucher and extras) ,

Cala Hotels (a £30 restaurant voucher which can be used at one of the Caladh

Inn, the Cabrfeidh Hotel, or the Royal Hotel).

Other prizes are being negotiated and will be announced when finalised.

There is no limit on the number of entries per person, and entry is free.

Photos should be sent in JPEG format as an attachment in an e-mail to:

[email protected]. In the heading put ‘Photographic Competition’ and in the body of the e-mail the entrants name, contact phone number or e-mail address, whether they are of primary or secondary school age, and the humorous caption for the photograph.

Also their choice of prizes (in order of first, second or third preference) in the event of being chosen as a winning
