Film festival enjoyed at Bernera Hall

An enthusiastic audience enjoyed a variety of films screened in the Bernera Hall, as part of the third Hebrides International Film Festival last Saturday.

From 11am with a series of archive short films, the stunning documentary Haida Gwaii: On the Edge of the World at 2pm, a thoroughly enjoyable Zootropolis for children of all ages at 5pm and The Wave, an edge of the seat Scadinavian disaster movie at 7.30pm, it was an extremely interesting programme.

Thanks are due to Muriel Ann and Rural Nations for the organisation of the festival, the Uig Community Association for the screen, the Bernera Community Association for the promotion and catering and Callum the projectionist for his coolness under pressure.

Anyone who is interested in making Film Screenings a regular feature of the programme in the Hall should look out for more information locally.

It is hoped to make this a reality by organising a Film Club for Bernera and the Tir Mor in the near future.
