Fundraising concert for Lewis Pipe Band

Fundraising hard in order to attend the World Pipe Band Championships this August, the Lewis Pipe Band continues their series of events with a concert in An Lanntair on the 23rd of April, showcasing the musical talents of the Band themselves, as well as a wealth of other local musical talent home-grown in the Islands.

The Band, as a registered charity, relies entirely on public support to keep the band in existence as one of Stornoway’s oldest community organisations. The concert sees musicians come together to support the fundraising efforts of the Band members.

Entitled “Ar Turas”, meaning “Our Journey”, the concert signifies how far the band have come in recent years, and promises to be a night filled with local musical influence and direction. In just 4 short years, the Lewis Pipe Band have gone from being a non-competing band, to being featured heavily in competition prize lists, including being crowned Cowal Champions in 2013, and being runner up at the World Pipe Band Championships in 2015, and now currently competes in Grade 3A.
