Gallipoli Service at Army Reserve Centre

A Gallipoli Service was held at the Ross Mountain Battery Memorial within the grounds of the Army Reserve Centre Stornoway.

This short service was held to remember those that landed on the shores of Gallipoli 101 years ago to the day on April 25th.

Many islanders from Lewis fought and died on the land or in the waters around Gallipoli between April 1915 and January 1916. It is hoped this will become an annual event.
