This year’s Lewis Carnival will include: the carnival procession with the Lewis and Skye pipe bands; games, including the gladiator joust and coconut shy, the funfair, sweets and treats, and the famous Stornoway Round Table BBQ in South Beach car park; along with a variety of stalls in the Town Hall; and the continental market at the old bus station on Cromwell Street.

The Carnival Committee would like to invite any willing volunteers to come along and help on the day.

There are also still spaces available for stalls in the Town Hall and there is always room for more floats if your group or business would like to enter one – big or small! Floats need to be at Willowglen by 12.45, ready to leave at 1pm.

South Beach car park will be closed from 6pm on Friday 5th until 6pm on Saturday 6th August.

Drivers are reminded to remove their cars before this time, and to especially bear the closure in mind when considering where to park if they’re going away. Drivers are urged to use the long-stay car park beside the bus station if they are leaving their car over the weekend.
