Teachers return on October 25th and pupils on October 26th. We would like to wish all pupils, staff and their families a restful and enjoyable holiday, and all Mòd competitors good luck next week.

CYCLING FOR FUNDS

Some of the pupils, who are going on the ski trip to Italy in February, completed a 20-mile sponsored cycle across the Pentland road on October 1st. Well done to all involved (see picture).

SHOEBOX APPEAL

Representatives from Blythswood Care visited recently to speak about this year’s shoebox appeal. Pupils can fill a box themselves, or with friends and family.

There is also the option of contributing to individual items or helping to pack and check the boxes. Information leaflets have been distributed, for further information contact the school office. Completed boxes must be handed in by 28 October.

ART SUCCESS

These two portraits by Aimee Pilson (S5) and Scott Maclennan (S3) (pictured) are examples of some of the fantastic work produced in the Art and Design Department this month.

Scott’s portrait of Barack Obama was created in response to a brief to create a mixed media portrait of an iconic figure, and Aimee has created a beautiful charcoal portrait as part of her Higher Expressive work.
