Lewis Christrian Conference

This year the Lewis Christian Conference is being held in the Stornoway Free Church, Kenneth Street from Friday 24 June through to Monday 27 June.

The speaker this year is Alistair Begg who is the Senior Pastor of Cleveland’s Parkside Church, Ohio, USA, a position he has had since 1983.

He is the voice behind the Truth for Life Christian radio preaching and teaching ministry that broadcasts his sermons daily to stations across the United States.

He is a strong advocate of historic Protestant Evangelical theology.

He emphasizes his belief in the importance of believing the Bible to be the completely authoritative Word of God, and the importance of using the mind to know the Bible and knowing God through repentance and faith in Jesus.

After graduating from the London School of Theology in 1975 he served eight years in Scotland at Charlotte Chapel in Edinburgh and Hamilton Baptist Church in Lanarkshire.

He is a Council member of the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals. He was educated at Trent University and Westminster Seminary.

Alistair’s wife, Susan, is American by birth and he himself became a U.S. citizen in 2004.

He and his wife have been married over 30 years and have three grown children.

This year the Conference theme is Looking to Jesus. On Friday 24 June at 7.30pm he will speak on the subject The Kingdom of God is at Hand from Mark 1 14-39.

On Saturday 25 at 7.30pm the subject is This Scripture Fulfilled…. from Luke 4:16-30.

On Monday 27 June at 7.30pm the subject is I Who Speak to You Am He from John 4:1-4.

On Sunday 26 June Alistair will preach at Lochs Free Church, Crossbost at 11am and Stornoway Free Church, Kenneth Street at 6.30pm. T

here will be a fellowship in the M.A. Memorial Hall, Kenneth Street Stornoway at 8.30pm at which Alistair will speak.
