Nominations invited for Volunteer Awards

Do you know someone who deserves to be recognised for their contribution through volunteering or an organisation that provides vital support for volunteering?

The Volunteer Centre Western Isles is pleased to invite nominations for the Volunteer Awards 2016, which will be held throughout the Western Isles during Volunteer’s Week, 1st – 7th June.

The Volunteer Awards celebrate and recognise the essential volunteering contribution made by people and organisations within our communities.

This year’s Volunteer Award ceremonies will take place in Stornoway and Tarbert, (Balivanich and Castlebay will be later in the year) during national Volunteers’ Week from 1st – 7th June.

The categories are:

Young Volunteer of the Year (Under 25); Volunteer of the Year (Over 25); Organisation of the Year; Services to Volunteering (outstanding contribution award)

Along with the categories mentioned above, the Volunteer Centre will be awarding other recently gained volunteering awards: the national Saltire Awards for young people; the Volunteer Centre’s own local awards for volunteering excellence - the WAVE quality standard award for organisations; the Callanish Youth Award for volunteers under 12; the Kisimul Award recognising the impact made by adult volunteers (26 and over) and the Clisham award for outstanding achievement made by exceptional volunteers.
