Proposed new location of Grimsay Post Office

The Post Office is proposing to relocate Grimsay Post Office.

The proposed new location for the branch is Ceann na h-Airigh, Scotvein, Grimsay, Isle of North Uist, HS6 5JA.

This is 1.9 miles from the current Grimsay Post Office at Grimsay, Lochmaddy, Isle of North Uist, HS6 5HT which is scheduled to close following the resignation of the postmaster and withdrawal of premises for Post Office use.

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a six-week public consultation.

Should the move go ahead, the branch would open from 11am – 1pm Tuesday - Saturday. The same range of services will continue to be available, customers will be able to collect benefits in cash using our everyday banking services or Post Office Card Account.

David Duff, Post Office Manager said: “We know how important Post Office services are to local residents. We are confident that this new Post Office within the local community will meet customer needs.

“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”

During the public consultation, Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal.

The consultation will close on 16 June 2016.
