In the running for Scottish Album of the Year

A shortlist of 10 will be announced on June 16th, with part of the final selection involving a public vote between June 13th - 15th on the Say Awards website.

The overall winner will be announced at a ceremony at Paisley Town Hall on June 29th.

Eas - the Gaelic word for waterfall or cascading - was released in July 2015 and has won Iain recognition and praise as the songs are based around piobaireachd, the classical music of the Scottish Highland Bagpipes.

Iain was taught to play the pipes by his famous piper father, Pipe Major Iain M Morrison. However, he gave up the world of solo piping and went on his own musical path by learning to play guitar and forming his own band.

His Indie/Folk album ‘Eas’ brings together both the traditional and contemporary influences that have been present through his musical journey and demonstrate why he is considered to be one of Scotland’s

most imaginative songwriters.
