Shoe Box Appeal

Along with many other areas, charity groups, schools, churches and clubs will be getting ready for the annual Blythswood Shoe Box Appeal.

This year will be the 50th anniversary of Blythewood care and it will be the 31st for the shoebox appeal.

The Western Isles, have always given great support and enthusiasm for the appeal.

Last year the island sent about 1,500 boxes.

All the boxes are carefully filled with many good quality items, which are all greatly appreciated by the families and children that receive them.

Some things we see as basic, to us, are like a luxury to the people in Romania, Albania, Moldova, etc.

This year the Blytheswood Appeal are asking the local communities, schools and churches, along with individuals, to take this opportunity to help those who have little,

The drop off point is to be held at the old Co-Op building, back entrance, on Kenneth Street (opposite Masonic Hall) Stornoway.
