Song conference success in Uist
The song conference focused on Dileab EOST, an international project that was completed in 2014.
Naomi Harvey, Jo MacDonald, Gillebride MacMillan were the original researchers who created a legacy of books and a CD from the community, they were supported by Allan MacDonald, who spoke of traditional lore and taught some songs from ancient times.

Hide AdOn the Friday evening the North Uist singing circle shared their songs and on the Saturday evening Guthan an Iar shared their songs in the hall before moving on to Westford Inn, where they were all well received.
Sunday afternoon saw Lochboisdale Hotel host the launch of the Jo MacDonald and Mairi Anna Caimbeul’s book “Bho ghinealach gu ginealach” / “From generation to generation”.
Iain shared some of his own poetry and many from the wider family contributed to the event by singing one of the songs, D.R. Campbell, Roddy MacKay, Seumas MacKay, Sarah MacKay, supported by Kenny Campbell, Penny Burgess, Guthan an Iar, Gillebride MacMillan and Allan MacDonald.
Liam Crouse who was instrumental in the Ceolas office during his graduate placement in producing the book was host for the event and he enjoyed singing along.
