Coinneach MacLeod, the Hebridean Baker is delighted his first book is about to be published later this year.

With wholesome, traditional Scottish recipes, stunning photography and a generous sprinkling of stories of island life and culture, The Hebridean Baker book offers a true taste of the Outer Hebrides.

"Growing up in Cromore, I was surrounded by wonderful traditional bakers, but there is no doubt I'm inspired by my Aunt Bellac in Marvig, who at 92 still makes the best duff on the island!

"I have always been a passionate homebaker but last year when I launched the Hebridean Baker on Tiktok, I challenged myself to bake a new cake every day for two months!

"I have loved inspiring folk around the world with my recipes, Gaelic lessons and stories of the islands. It's an adventure I never expected to happen and I have no idea where it will take me, but I can't wait to find out!

Coinneach MacLeod was born and raised on the Isle of Lewis, the most northerly of the Outer Hebrides. Inspired by traditional family recipes and homegrown produce, he rose to fame as the Hebridean Baker on TikTok in 2020. He has motivated his 130,000 worldwide followers to bake, forage, learn Gaelic, enjoy a dram or two of whisky and to seek a more wholesome, simple life. Along with his partner Peter and their Westie pup Seòras, Coinneach’s aim is to bring the best of the Scottish islands to a worldwide audience.

Coinneach continued: “The interest in my videos continued to grow and then I was featured in Elle Magazine. N ow I have had 10 million views of my videos and a following of over 130,000, from Carloway to California!”
