Donald runs Air An Lot (On the Croft) on Lewis, which gives visitors a chance to sample life as a Hebridean crofter.

Until the pandemic, he was developing his business into a tourism attraction, with tour groups visiting to take part in various traditional farming activities, such as peat cutting or collecting eggs.

Well known for the series An Lot/The Croft on BBC Alba, Donald, whose crofting family have been on the land for almost 200 years, will be talking about his experiences setting up and running the business, the impact of operating on an island, and the ramifications of Covid-19.

GrowBiz CEO, Jackie Brierton, said: “We are thrilled that Donald can join us for our September XChange event and are very much looking forward to hearing his inspirational story. No doubt he will bring with him a breath of fresh air from the Hebrides.”

The free GrowBiz XChange networking events are excellent opportunities to hear from a wide range of motivational speakers and be inspired with new ideas for your own business.

Since the onset of the pandemic they’ve been held online via Zoom, but still offer the chances to network, ask questions and engage in thought-provoking discussion.

The September XChange will be held this Thursday, September 24, at 6pm. Book tickets at Growbiz Events
