The development, which will be completed in three phases, will also include a new access road off of the main Barvas Road, and a link road, in the north-east corner of the site connecting to the Gleann Dubh estate.

Two new bus stops are included in the plan one on each side of the Barvas road, and a new pathway will link the development to the Newmarket play area.

An observation point is also included in the plan which will be built in the north west corner of the site, the highest area of the development.

The planning consent was granted by the Comhairle with a number of conditions including a requirement that a minimum of 18 of the 72 units will be for affordable shared equity or affordable rent unless otherwise agreed with the Comhairle.
