NHS Western Isles expresses gratitude for PPE donations

NHS Western Isles has thanked local businesses and individuals after being inundated with generous offers of personal protective equipment (PPE).

To ensure all donations (including hand sanitiser) are managed appropriately, people are being asked to email Chris Anne Campbell of the health board’s resilience team first so checks can be carried out to make sure all products are safe for use in a health and care setting.

Chris Anne said: “We have been overwhelmed by the offers of support we have received from the public, local businesses and organisations and on behalf of NHS Western Isles I would like to thank everyone for their generosity.

“If anyone would like to donate any additional PPE equipment or products, ideally we would appreciate it if they could email me at [email protected].

“Donating in this way will allow us to carry out quality assurance testing and means we can distribute the equipment fairly and to where it is needed most.”
