As the cost of living crisis bites amid rising energy prices, 123EVPV pride themselves in providing bespoke eco-electricity generation, designed to save money as well as helping tackle climate change.

Co-owner Gregor McPhie said: “What we do is all in-house from start to finish. Having solar panels installed can be a convoluted process with many sub-contractors involved but we keep it simple by missing out any middle men. We are really pleased to now be on the Western Isles, ready to help further the battle against climate change.”

Providing energy solutions to domestic and commercial clients, 123EVPV guarantee their work, led by installer William Owens. Gregor added: “William has been installing solar panels since the start of the green revolution, making him one of the experienced guys you could have to create your own eco-friendly and cost-effective renewable energy supply.”

The firm uses technology such as video and cameras to provide free quotes remotely, with no obligation. Once you are happy it then usually only takes one or two days to install the PV (photovoltaic) panels.

Gregor said the benefits of generating your own solar power make it a good solution for both businesses and families. “With ever increasing energy prices and a real need to look after mother earth, there has never been a better time to save money and the environment for future generations. A standard solar installation can recoup its cost within as little as 8 years. There are also interest free loans available from the Scottish Government to help with renewable energy projects.”

Most of the energy for the home can be generated through solar power, even on a cloudy day solar panels still generate electricity . With the use of storage batteries the electricity can be saved for when you need it. Gregor added: “If you are out all day the batteries can be powering up so you can use their power when you get home.”

As 123EVPV expand they are offering the first five solar panel clients on the Western Isles a free electric vehicle charger.

Gregor said: “By 2030 all new cars are required by UK law to be either hybrid or fully electric with the most convenient way to charge your Electric Vehicle being at home.

“We install a suitable EV charger in around two hours by running cable from your fuse box to an agreed charging area with minimal of fuss. A 7.4kw charger (the maximum allowed on a domestic single phase mains) can charge your Electric Vehicle battery from empty to full within 8 hours.”
