The Comhairle has received a further £81k to help those in need

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar continues to have support available for people in hardship and has recently received an additional £81k for this from the Scottish Government.

The council do not want people who are struggling to stay silent - contact then now in complete confidence. Help is available.

Anyone who is experiencing financial hardship and is in need of support can contact the Comhairle on 01851 600501.

There is also a network of foodbanks available to support those in need.

Families of children who are eligible for free school meals and in need of additional food or are experiencing difficulty in heating their home can access support in the form of food parcels or vouchers.

A spokesperson said: “The Comhairle has access to funding for those who are experiencing financial hardship. Nobody should go hungry, be unable to feed their children or heat their home.
