Care home residents are delighted they've now received the second vaccine jab.
On Tuesday, February 2, Blar Buidhe care home in Stornoway became the first HC-One home to have residents vaccinated with the second dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccination.
The NHS Western Isles vaccination team, supported by Blar Buidhe nurse, Christine Wightman, very efficiently and effectively ran an in-house clinic enabling Blar Buidhe residents to receive this vital second part of the vaccination programme in the ongoing fight against coronavirus.

Hide AdFamilies and friends of residents are delighted to learn that their loved ones in Blar Buidhes care have had both doses of the vaccine with the protection that the second vaccination offers against the virus.
A Blar Buidhe resident’s daughter said: “I am so pleased my dad is getting the vaccine, he looks quite happy with it.”
“And a huge thank you to all the staff and team member s keeping our loved ones safe.”
The second coronavirus vaccine jab offers more protection than the first, making Blar Buidhe one of the most coronavirus secure care homes.
