NHS Western Isles reveals seven more Covid-19 cases linked to Uist outbreak
The latest increase in positive cases was announced last night (Thursday, October 1) by NHS Western Isles chief executive Gordon Jamieson, who urged everyone to play their part in helping to stop the spread of the virus.
In a video statement on social media, Mr Jamieson expressed his disappointment at the further rise in positive cases, and said: “I think it goes without saying that everyone knows now what we need to do as individuals to contain and suppress this outbreak and the virus.

Hide Ad“Please, given tonight’s position, can I ask you to re-double your efforts in terms of the steps you personally can take to increase your own vigilance, and please keep contact with other to an absolute minimum.”
The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are:
• A high temperature (37.8C of greater)
• And/or a new and continuous cough
• And/or a loss or change in your sense of smell and/or taste.
