If you are aged 75 or over, are resident in the Western Isles, and have not yet been contacted to offer you an appointment for your COVID-19 Vaccination, you are now being invited to contact NHS Western Isles to make an appointment.

This invitation applies across the Western Isles.

A spokeswoman for NHSWI said: “We are also continuing to invite the following priority groups: those aged 70 and over, those classed as 'shielding', and those aged 65 and over. We will be contacting these groups directly by telephone.

“We appreciate your patience as we continue to work through the priority groups as quickly as we can.

“The vaccination programme is making excellent progress in the Western Isles with over 26 per cent of the population already having received a first dose of vaccine.”

NHS Western Isles would remind everyone attending an appointment:

You will be required to wear a clinical face mask at your appointment (if you are medically exempt you will be required to present a Scottish Government Exemption Card – available from 0800 121 6240 or request online at www.exempt.scot). A face mask will be provided to you at your appointment.

You are asked to attend on time (not early or late) and alone if possible, unless you require assistance.

You will be required to follow safety instructions (hand sanitizer on entry and keep a safe physical distance from others).

Wear loose fitting clothing with easy access to your upper arm.

If you are unable to attend or need to re-schedule your appointment please contact them as soon as possible on 0808 196 8383.

If you are unable to arrange transport to get to your appointment, please ask when you book your appointment as support is available from various agencies.

NHS Western Isles would like to thank everyone who has already contributed their time and effort to assist them with the delivery of the vaccination programme.

“We thank everyone for their continued patience as we work our way through the nationally defined priority groups as quickly as we can,” a spokesman said.
