Appeal for help re Laxdale Lane address

The Gazette has received an appeal for help from 80-year-old Bernard Willis.

He wrote: “My son and I are trying to trace my ancestors on my mother’s side of the family. My Grandmother was Margaret Flora MacDonald and was born in Stornoway in 1880. She lived in Laxdale Lane but died in Colchester in 1920. I have letters from her aunt who was still living in Seven Laxdale Lane during WW2. We cannot find any information that goes beyond my grandmother.”
