The Stornoway Sailing Club will be hosting a public open day on Saturday 26th May.
All types of water craft will be taking part, be they sailing boats of any size, kayaks, powerboats, or rowing boats.
Toby Marshall, chair of the sailing club, said: “We want the open day to be an opportunity for as many people as possible to get out on the water, trying out different types of boat, and maybe they will consider taking up boating in one form or another this summer.”
Owners of boats are encouraged to contact the club and to bring their craft to the open day.
The event will be based at Cuddy Point in the Lews Castle Grounds, Stornoway starting from 1.30pm.
This will be shortly after the finish of the SRAC half-marathon in the castle grounds and participants from that event are very welcome to head out on the water as the perfect way to wind down and relax!
Shore side stalls will include British Divers Marine Life Rescue, the RNLI, and various local sporting and sailing interests.
The event is free but for those who wish to go out on a boat, a donation to charity is appreciated.
