For the #actyourage challenge, eight-year-old Brownie Abigail is doing a daily Highland Fling for eight days and ten year old Guider Katie has made ten cheesecakes to sell, while 30 year-old leader Matilda is running a daily mile for 30 days while wishing she was a lot younger!

Isla, aged 14 from Tarbert, has set herself the task of playing the ukelele for 14 hours non-stop this coming weekend. Isla says: “I wanted to challenge myself and try something new. It’s also great to represent Girlguiding Harris and help raise some money for such fantastic causes.”

The money raised will help both charities empower and provide opportunities for young people at a time when support is so crucial.

Donations for all the Harris girls’ efforts can be made at a dedicated fundraising page on JustGiving at: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/girlguiding-harris or alternatively through the Girlguiding Western Isles Facebook page.

For girls aged 5-7 the Rainbow section is an ideal starting point and is all about learning by doing and having fun.

Brownies is the next step up for girls aged 7-10 and focuses on trying new things that teach girls all about themselves, their community and the worls aroud them.
