Launched at the Seallam Centre this week was the Hebrides People website, a historic and unique new site packed with information and details on islanders.
There are plans to eventually publish records of every person who has lived in the Hebrides in the past 200 years, more than 200,000 islanders.
Also launched was a searchable emigration database with information on more than 20,000 emigrants who left the islands between 1780 and 1920.
In attendance and speaking at the exciting launch was General Registrar for Scotland Mr George Mackenzie which highlights not just the local but the nation significance of the site.
