A touring production which will be staged at Western Isles schools this week looks at the serious issues of abuse within teenage relationships, gender stereotyping and the media’s impact on young people’s body image and behaviour.
The production also helps to achieve the aims of the Curriculum for Excellence both in terms of empowering children to build healthy relationships in the future and to better support
those affected by domestic abuse at present.
One pupil who has seen the performance said: “It was a great experience like to be able to talk so openly about the touchy subjects is like really effective when you are learning. It’s like it’s
easier than learning straight out of a textbook or copying notes - even though those two are ways of learning - but this one was just a bit different from what we’ve usually done and that’s why it was such a good experience for me.”
