Norman Thomson from Inverness couldn’t believe his eyes this week when he was out walking his dog at 9.15am on Luskentyre Beach.

Norman, on holiday from his home in Inverness for a short break was doing what he always does - walking his dog in the morning, when he suddenly saw, in the distance at first, a large bird appearing on the horizon.

As it flew closer, it got larger and larger until it flew almost above Norman who was walking just below the old cemetery.

Norman said: “I was only there a couple of minutes when I saw it from further along the beach. As it got closer to me I was astonished to find it was a Sea Eagle.

“These are quite rare birds so I was just in the right place at the right time.

The pics were actually taken from a video on my iPhone, but poor light meant much of footage was out of focus but I still managed to grab some images.”
