Queen of Chat Valerie Maclennan, will be interviewing Cardinal Keith O’Brien, Scotland’s most senior Roman Catholic, in the latest of a series of her “ In Conversation With” shows, on Thursday 4th October 2012 at 7.30pm.

Valerie has chosen the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel Falkirk, for her latest series of shows.

Valerie Maclennan is originally from Stornoway, left the Island as a teenager.

The Cardinal, whose determined and highly public opposition of gay marriage and his stance on a range of other moral and ethical issues has given him an exceptionally high profile in recent years, this will be the latest in a series of controversial celebrities to be interviewed by Valerie. Her previous guests have included Politician Tommy Sheridan and Former Rangers FC Chairman and Leading Criminal Advocate, Donald Findlay QC.

When asked why he had agreed to be the Special Guest of Valerie Maclennan on her In Conversation With Shows, Cardinal Keith O’Brien replied by saying: “I have been the subject of very many interviews, particularly in recent months, about a great variety of controversial issues. Sometimes at the end of an interview, I feel something like a sponge which has been rung out-completely drained! However, I was only too happy to submit myself to this interview by Valerie Maclennan, knowing that it would be in the happy and relaxed atmosphere of the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel, and also by a person, Valerie, who wants to hear what I have to say and is prepared to listen to me, rather than to dictate to me.”

Valerie said: “I am looking forward to the interview, and having the opportunity to ask the Cardinal his opinion on a range of matters.” There will also be a Q and A in the second half of the show

The Event, which is supported by the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel and Spa is expected to be highly popular, so reservation of tickets, which cost £10 each is recommended.
