Trek back in time at New Lanark
VISITORS to New Lanark will be able to become time-travellers from May onwards with a new Victorian-themed tour through the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s Falls of Clyde nature reserve.
Led by storyteller and folklorist Allison Galbraith in full Victorian costume (pictured), the tour focuses on the Lockhart Ross family who left a legacy of pathways, viewing platforms and designed landscapes on the old estate that forms the core of today’s reserve.
There is a chance to try out the tour for free as part of the New Lanark Spring Food and Gift Fair, which is on today, between 1.30pm and 4pm.
