Western Isles SNP group hold Burns Supper

Western Isles SNP members celebrated the Burns season at a Burns supper held in the Cabarfeidh Hotel, Stornoway, on the 4th February. A large turnout of SNP supporters enjoyed an evening of music, recitations and Burns toasts.

The evening was chaired by Rae MacKenzie. Na h-Eileanan an Iar 2011 candidate Alasdair Allan, delivered the Selkirk Grace in both Gaelic and English and also toasted the Haggis, and MP, Angus MacNeil proposed the Toast to the Lassies, which was replied to by Jennifer Dempsie.

Na h-Eileanan an Iar SNP candidate, Alasdair Allan, commented: “The big turnout tonight is a great encouragement for the campaign ahead in the Western Isles. Robert Burns is being celebrated more and more in Scotland as he deserves to be and tonight’s event was one of thousands taking place all over the world. I’d like to thank everyone who worked hard to ensure that this evening was such great fun.”
