Appeal to give '¨children a summer to remember

Social care charity Quarriers has launched its 2016 Summer Appeal in its bid to make this summer one to remember for hundreds of children across the country.

Following the success of last year’s campaign, the charity is calling on donors to back the 2016 appeal as it looks to create lasting memories for little ones.

The children at the heart of the appeal face a range of difficulties as a result of poverty, domestic abuse, mental health issues or disability, and for many a summer day out seems impossible.

But Quarries is asking for a £10 donation to offer youngsters a trip the seaside, amusements parks and other attractions while enjoy traditional summer treats like ice cream and picnics.

Alice Drife, Chief Executive Officer of Quarriers said: “There was an overwhelming response to last year’s appeal and the impact on the hundreds of children we support highlighted why we put so much into our summer campaigns. Many of us are lucky enough to have grown up thinking summer holidays and trips are the norm and that everyone has the same experience as a child.”
