Lewis Wave Power Limited hosted an open exhibition yesterday (Monday) in Martin’s Memorial Church, Stornoway for members of the public to drop in with any questions or concerns about their proposals for its first wave energy development on Lewis.
Browsing the exhibition was Lews Castle College student Eddie Hamilton who has become a fully fledged backer of wave power after making a recent presentation on the Oyster wave energy converter.
He said: “It is far more reliable than wind power and less controversial too. I’m definitely for it and it isn’t detrimental to either the coast line or marine life.”
Speaking to the Gazette Mark Murray (pictured), who managed each of the exhibitions in Stornoway and at the Galson Estate insisted he had received no negative comments.
