A number of bright new artworks have been installed in and around Stornoway recently courtesy of Western Isles Schools who have been working hard on a project to welcome the Royal National Mod when it comes to town on October 14th.

The Royal National Mod Committee are running a competition to decide which boards are the best with a first prize of £100, second prize of £50 and third prize of £25.

The Stornoway Gazette will be featuring all of the boards - ten in this week’s paper and ten in next week’s - when we will ask you to vote for your favourite.

Details for voting will be given in next week’s issue on October 13th.

The winners will be announced on Thursday, October 20th at the Mod’s morning press conference, following completion of the junior Mod competitions.
