BBC ALBA celebrates Hogmanay in style with a live ceilidh featuring a host of singers and musicians to help bid a fond farewell to the old year and welcome in 2014.
Cathy MacDonald and Kirsteen MacDonald will host the programme live from Partick Burgh Hall in Glasgow, and offer a hundred thousands welcomes during a sensational night of Scots and Gaelic entertainment and song.
Barbara Dickson OBE will be one of the star guests of the evening’s coverage, which starts at 11.30pm.
She will be joined by Manran and BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2013 Paddy Callaghan as well as Linda MacLeod, who will provide an exciting and eclectic music line up throughout the hour and three quarter long Hogmanay spectacular.
Glenfinnan Ceilidh Band, Glasgow Musical Association and Greater Glasgow Police Scotland Pipe Band will also be performing on the night and will be joined by some lively first footers to welcome in the bells at midnight.
Cèilidh na Bliadhn’ Ùire 2013 / Hogmanay Cèilidh 2013 will be produced by BBC Gàidhlig for BBC ALBA and will be simulcast on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal (103.5-105FM) and also worldwide via www.bbc.co.uk/alba.
