Bid to relocate Land Commission in the Isles

South Uist community land owner Stòras Uibhist has announced that they are corresponding with the Scottish Government to relocate the Land Commission to a site on South Uist.

They said: “We will undoubtedly be competing with other sites around Scotland, but South Uist provides a unique and mutually beneficial development opportunity, for both the Commission and Stòras.

Not only do the Islands provide the perfect setting for such a high profile organisation, but the estate lies at the heart of Community Landownership in Scotland.
