More than 125 art works from more than 50 artists will go on show this weekend in Ullapool’s An Talla Solais Gallery making it the largest members’ exhibition ever hosted by the arts charity.
The wealth of work on show has been submitted by artists from all over Scotland and features painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking and tapestry.
The artists include many new members who are taking part in this annual An Talla Solais highlight for the first time.
Exhibitions Coordinator Victoria Caine welcomed the diversity of the work submitted and its high quality.
She said: “The creativity and commitment of our members is our driving force and the reason for the continuing success of this annual exhibition.
“It’s always a show that the public and the exhibitors enjoy and this year we have more amazing work on show than ever before.
“The standard is exceptional and there really is something for everyone.”
Alongside the main exhibition, there will also be a fundraising auction of miniature masterpieces.
The annual ‘Small Squares’ show takes the theme of ‘Exquisite Bodies’ this year, the Victorian drawing game in which players draw part of a body, fold the paper over and pass it on.
The squares are displayed so that visitors will be able to create their own ‘Exquisite Bodies’ from the heads, legs and torsos on show.
Visitors will be able to bid for the ‘Small Squares’ in a silent auction either in person at the gallery or online on the An Talla Solais Facebook page or website.
The Members’ Exhibition opens today (Saturday 20th August) and runs daily until Sunday 23rd October at An Talla Solais Gallery, The Caledonian Hotel (West Argyle Street entrance), Ullapool.
