Blar Buidhe safe from closure, says Comhairle

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar have issued an assurance that the Blar Buidhe care home, owned by liquidation-hit Southern Cross, is not in any imminent danger of closure.

A Council spokesman told the Gazette: “The Comhairle’s first priority is the well-being of care home residents and the continuity of their care. The Comhairle, along with the other 31 local authorities in Scotland, is working closely with the National Contingency Planning Group and COSLA.

“COSLA do not anticipate any closures of care homes in the short term and continues to seek continuity of care from landlords and providers.”
