Britain’s Got Talent this year is holding its biggest ever audition tour and Stornoway is one of the towns that the tour will visit in its search.

Jake Court, who will be scouting for talent in Stornoway, said: “We’re going to turn over every nook and cranny in the country looking for hidden talent.”

This is a new regional initiative that brings the auditions to the far-reaching communities of Scotland who would find it difficult to travel to the Mainland. Aberdeen, Inverness, Orkney and Lewis are hosting auditions.

Bringing the auditions direct to the talent, for the very first time the show will visit Stornoway from Friday 31st October to Saturday 1st November. An audition in the style of an Open Mic Night will be held on the Friday at Chili Chili in South Beach Street. This is strictly for over 18s only. Anyone interested in taking part should send a direct message to Chili Chili’s Facebook page.

On the Saturday an all-ages audition will be held at the Bayhead Bridge Centre from 12 o’clock. Anyone hoping to take part in this audition should contact Jake Court on 0207 691 5635.

The show is open to any performer of any age, from any background, with any talent - all they need is a skill and star quality which they think will impress. Anything goes from comedians to contortionists, dancers to drag acts and acrobats to animals.

Executive Producer, Amelia Brown, said “Britain’s Got Talent has an amazing record of celebrating amazing talent and changing people’s lives – from Susan Boyle and Diversity through to Paul Potts, Ashleigh and Pudsey and this year’s winners Collabro. They all took a chance and applied for the show and that’s what we want the people to do this year. We can’t wait to see the talent that Stornoway has to offer.”
