Busy Saturday for police incidents

Offensive weapon

At 11.35pm on February 6th at Garden Road, Stornoway a 55 year old male was found to be in possession of an offensive weapon, it was seized and he was arrested. He attended court from custody on Monday, February 8th.

Out of control dog

At midday on February 6th a dog owner was arrested for having an out of control dog. The dog had killed a number of chickens at Lews Castle College, Stornoway. The matter was reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Shouting and swearing

On February 6th at 2.20am at New Valley a 28 year old female was arrested for Breach of the Peace after shouting and swearing in the street. She was issued a fixed penalty fine.

Assault charge

In the Tong area on February 6th at 11pm a 42 year old male was arrested for Breach of bail and assault. He was reported to the Procurator Fiscal from custody.

Information request

The police are requesting information about an incident at the parking spaces in Bayhead (general area pictured) Stornoway which took place between 2 and 4pm on February 6th when a white VW transporter was damaged.

The transporter was hit by a passing vehicle which did not stop and police are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch on 101.
